Let them (not) eat cake!

20 Jul

Ugh, can we just skip the cake? Who likes cake, anyway? (;

Looking for recommendations on cake bakers in the Kenwood area. I’ve recently learned that transportation of the cake is nearly as important as the baking of the cake, and we don’t want any cracked cakes showing up at the Club on the big day!

I believe we might also have some assorted cupcakes, maybe we should have like 3 kinds of desserts, like chocolate covered strawberries (delicious), cupcakes, and cake. Would that be too complicated?

Help!

    Here’s a trick I heard of to save money..and we might do it. Buy a cheaper two-tier cake (the bottom to cut, the top to freeze for your first anniversary) then have them take it into the back and have a sheet cake served. If you put all desserts (cake, cupcakes, and whatever else you want) on a table, you do not have to stop dancing for dessert and people have a choice and you spend way less money on cake!

      That’s a great idea. I think you told me about that in Nashville and I was totally planning on borrowing that idea. This weekend it occured to me that I should scrap the whole thing and buy like 30 key lime pies. We’ll see!

        I like that idea too, but make sure you have at least one tier or a pie to cut for pictures, etc.

        Glad to see everything is coming along well…love the blog!

        Totally agree, there would have to be a small cake to cut.
